'Watch out for the little guy!'

The AUTOFLEX project on small autonomous electric inland vessels has kicked off with the full team during two wonderful days in Brussels.

Next to all this large projects, we are quite eager to look and the promising case on small vessels and waterways and how autonomy and electrification can support the modal shift to inland waterways supporting the European GreenDeal.

The idea behind AUTOFLEX is to develop both novel vessel desgins for inland vessels that big enough to carry cargo boxes but small enough to travel on inland waterways that too shallow or too narrow for common sized ships and buisness models with a minimal total cost of ownership.

The AUTOFLEX consortium is formed by seven partners and one associated partner. Partners, lead by SINTEF Ocean and project coordinator Odd Erik Møkrid, are DFDS, NTUA, ISE, Maritime Robotics, Fraunhofer CML, DST and ZES. See the Partner page for more information
