AUTOFLEX Journey - Milestones along the time line

AUTOFLEX has successfully achieved its first milestone after three months of dedicated work. Work packages have commenced as scheduled, and we have submitted our initial deliverables. To access the deliverables, please visit our downloads page .The branding for AUTOFLEX has been completed and the planning regarding management and data handling are officially documented.
Milestone is close to being achieved.

AUTOFLEX has successfully completed Milestone 3, marking the conclusion of the work package “From Modal Shift to Barriers to Design Parameters Quantification.” Extensive research has provided key insights into existing infrastructure, market potential, and design parameters necessary for integrating autonomous inland shipping into current logistics networks. The findings, documented in Deliverables D2.1 (Design Parameters) and D2.2 (Market Analysis), lay a critical foundation for upcoming project phases.
AUTOFLEX has successfully completed Milestone 4: “Vessel Concept Defined.” Deliverable D4.2 outlines the design of a fully electric, uncrewed container vessel for CEMT Class II inland waterways. The concept demonstrates the feasibility of a scalable, zero-emission vessel that supports EU goals for decarbonisation and digitalisation in inland shipping.

AUTOFLEX completed a full-mission test with the Otter X navigating the Trondheim canal uncrewed and under remote supervision. The mission included automatic waypoint handling and coordination for safe passage through the Skansen Bridge. The successful demonstration validates the closed autonomy control loop—from mission planning at the Remote Operations Center to real-time monitoring and autonomous execution on the vessel.
